Grid
Computing on a massive scale.The
University of Oxford/UD.com Screen Saver Smallpox Project
The presentation highlights computational
chemistry results from the two-year project between the
University of Oxford and UD.com. This project has covered
three areas: anti-cancer drug discovery, anthrax poison
cures, and recently investigating smallpox virus enzymes.
With over 300,000 years of computing time invested by more
than 2 million project members, public interest in science
and computing is strong. Questions covered include what
results do these types of Grid projects yield and what are
the benefits and what sorts of e-science grid projects will
researchers be developing next?
