Victor Lobanov, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical R & D
Dr. Victor S. Lobanov is Principal Scientist with the Molecular Design and Informatics group at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development L.L.C. He holds a M.S. degree in chemistry from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia and a Ph.D. in computational chemistry from the University of Tartu, Estonia. After postdoctoral training with Alan R. Katritzky at the University of Florida, he joined 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals (3DP), where he worked on development and application of advanced computational methods for combinatorial chemistry, virtual screening and HTS data analysis. Before acquisition of 3DP by Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development L.L.C. (J&J PRD) Victor held position of Assistant Director of the Research Informatics group. After the merger of 3DP with J&J PRD in 2003 Victor has been involved into Advanced Biology and Chemistry Discovery (ABCD) project aimed to create a global discovery informatics platform at Johnson & Johnson.
Abstract
ABCD Chemoinformatics: Integrating Chemoinformatics Tools into Everyday Drug Discovery Practice

Victor Lobanov, PhD, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development LLC, 665 Stockton Dr., Exton, PA 19341, USA

By unifying chemical and biological data across multiple continents, data systems and cultures, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development, L.L.C.'s multidisciplinary ABCD drug discovery informatics platform aims at providing scientists access to a wealth of information as well as the analysis tools to enable better decision making. An integral part of the ABCD informatics platform is a set of state-of-the-art chemoinformatics tools that scientists have access to via the client desktop application developed in house. A tight integration of data access and data analysis plus a straightforward user interface provide a winning formula for a broad adoption of the chemoinformatics tools by the bench scientists.
